National Conference of Lead and Healthy Homes Grantees
The National Association of Lead and Healthy Homes Grantees is presenting sessions that focus on grant submission and management issues, operational issues and technical assistance topics. These sessions allow grantees, sub-grantees and potential grantees to examine ways to respond to grant opportunities, properly manage grant programs examine key issues that will help their agencies and communities improve the effectiveness and delivery of their grant programs, and examine changing federal strategies.
 
The Sessions on Lead and Healthy Homes Grant Management, Successful Program Implementation and Program Sustainability Cover the Following Issues

  • Getting help with the HUD NOFA for 2010
  • Streamlining grant program administration
  • Staying on target with your grant’s benchmarks and deliverables
  • Transitioning from a lead to a healthy homes program
  • Monitoring and documenting that contractors are using lead-safe work practices
  • Developing proper documentation on household income including third party verification
  • Recruiting strategies for contractors and landlords
  • Sustaining a program after the grant period
  • Gaining acceptance of healthy homes programs at the local level
  • Fostering partnerships for implementing a healthy housing agenda
  • Preparing for new opportunities offered through HUD’s Healthy Homes Strategic Plan
